Emergency Dental Care
Dental emergencies are frightening — and they always seem to happen at the worst possible time. At Clyde Dental Care, we keep same-day emergency slots in our schedule every day because we know that when you’re in pain, waiting isn’t an option.
Simply call us as early as possible on (03) 8908 3030. If it’s after hours and you’re in severe pain, we’ll provide guidance on managing discomfort until we can see you. Don’t ignore dental pain — it rarely resolves on its own and almost always gets worse.

What to Do in an Emergency
Call Us First
Call (03) 8908 3030 as early as possible. Our team will assess your situation and book you in as quickly as possible — often the same morning.
First Aid Guidance
We'll give you pain management advice over the phone while you wait. For a knocked-out tooth, keep it moist — in milk or between your cheek and gum — and get to us immediately.
Pain Relief & Assessment
On arrival, we focus on relieving your pain first. Then we do a thorough assessment to understand what's happened and what treatment is needed.
Treatment & Follow-Up
We treat the emergency and provide a clear plan for any follow-up care needed. You'll leave with a full understanding of what happened and what comes next.

Questions?
Frequently Asked Questions
Honest answers — no jargon.
Act fast — a knocked-out tooth can often be re-implanted if treated within 30–60 minutes. Keep the tooth moist (in milk, saline, or between your cheek and gum — never dry), handle it by the crown not the root, and call us immediately.
From placement to final crown, the process typically takes 4–9 months. The healing phase (osseointegration) takes most of that time. The actual appointments are fewer and shorter than most patients expect.
Our clinic hours are Mon–Fri 8am–6pm (Thu–Fri 7pm) and Sat 9am–2pm. For after-hours emergencies, we provide an after-hours guidance message with advice on managing pain. For life-threatening emergencies, always call 000.
Emergency appointment fees vary depending on what treatment is required. We always explain the cost clearly before proceeding and will prioritise relieving your pain within a budget you're comfortable with.
